An intellectual change that initiated at the beginning of 10th century is known as Surrealism and is renowned for written work done by people affiliated with this group members and the visual artwork.
This movement brought together philosophers, artists and researchers in chase for some in understanding of the unconscious, in pursuit of finding meaning in lives of aesthetic, new humanity and a novel societal order.Surrealism first became known in the early 19’s when a poet from France, Andre Breton started his first work Manifesto du surrealism. In this book Andre expresses his view of rational thought as exploitive to the creativity and imagination of human mind and therefore, unfavorable to artistic expression. He thought that poetic accuracy can only be created if a person has a strong connection with cloaked part of his psyche. Surrealism and TwentiethCentury Art:One sole purpose, if there is any one, to Surrealism, it is to convey the issue, and finally invalidate the conservative belief that reality is stable and obvious and has no hidden sides to it, positive or negative. Surrealist art display the aspect of disclosure, startling visuals demonstrated side by side or close together. The heroes of twentieth century era in Breton’s point of view are Einstein and Freud as they illustrated through their work that truth is never apparent to the naked eye.
They both believed and proved that reality is in fact relative to the observer. There are two sides to reality, one is immediate reality, which is obvious and is mostly the first impression that an observer observes or feels and then there is hidden reality, in which there is more to be found. That is, they implied that here is a power of the mind over reality. The purpose of surrealism is exactly this, to validate reasons rule over instant reality, and at the same time showing what can be produced from concealed reality (Jack D.Flam , Miriam Deutch and Carl Einstein, 75). Even though surrealism deals with diverse work, in a nut shell, it involves two elemental processes. One is deferment of realism and second is establishing a correlation of visions or things with a surreal or outlandish reality. A Surrealist entity remains partial and ill-formed and permanently detained in its formation, and as such, unattractive.
Reality is a sickly, psychological illness observed and indulged as if it has real or objective existence. There are four steps involved in reality assessment. The first step is to settle on whether the feelings are coming from inside or from outside. The second step is to analyze and decide what is the reason and cause of these sensations commonly known as idea formation. The third step has a very close relation to the second step which is driving significance from these feelings as to find out why a certain things means to me in a certain way.
This could be called the analysis or explanation of the meaning. The last phase is to locate the accurate response to the seeming sensations.
