If we take in-depth view of the picture, it shows that the old car is not appealing red in color.The woman standing along the car is also not posing just standing normally on contrary the new sporty thunderbird for which the advertisement is made, is attractive red in color, the woman is standing giving a pose which add a bit modification and representation of being fresh and latest.

This pointed person or thing is actually the objective or theme of the advertisement what the advertiser want us to notice or see.

The direction of looking something counts a lot. If that pointing is not done in the advertisement, may be the viewer will not be able to notice the actual object and will nit be psychologically convinced to think about that particular piece of image.
