Cassidy C. 8-4Donald Trump is Not Fit to Be InOffice Do yousupport our current president? If you do, have you ever really heard the thingshe has said or done? Do you understand the gravity or effect that some thingshe has said can really affect a person. Do you understand that things he says are things children could getsuspending from schools for saying? Or if a working adult said somethingsimilar at their job, they could be fired. That is how disturbing and large ofa problem this is.
These things I have heard him say or do, blow my mind thathe was considered to be president in the first place. Let alone actually becomethe president of the United States disgusts me. I think a lot of people aredisregarding some of these things he has said because some of them were said inthe past, but that doesn’t mean anything.
He is still the same person, hehasn’t changed. He is still the orange man with horrible, controversialbeliefs. In my opinion, I think DonaldTrump should not be president or in office at all. In this essay, I will beexplaining why Donald Trump is a bad leader, a bad president, and overall, ahorrible individual.
One ofthe many things that is wrong with the fact that he’s president is that it’snot even proven that he won the election fairly. More Americans voted forHillary Clinton than any other losing presidential candidate in US history. TheDemocrat outpaced Donald Trump by almost 2.9 million votes, with (48.2%) to his(46.1%). “Hillary Clinton beat President-elect DonaldTrump by 2.
1% in the national popular vote. Her nearly 2.9 million voteadvantage is the largest total among candidates who did not win the presidency.Only two others, Andrew Jackson (1824) and Samuel Tilden (1876) won by a largerpercentage without also claiming the White House,” wrote CNN.”…
the ways apparent Russian agentsused the internet as a tool to meddle in American elections,” said TheAtlantic. They also talk about how the Justice Department “is weighing whetherto charge Russian hackers with breaking into the Democratic NationalCommittee’s computers.” Other largely-known websites that talk about theRussian interference are CNN, The New York Times, The Guardian, The WashingtonPost, and so many more. There are so many reasons why Donald Trump didn’t winfair, the above are just a few. The next reason why DonaldTrump shouldn’t be in office is that Trump was forced to file for bankruptcysix times because he ran up tons of debt using other people’s money.
Trump’scompanies have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, which means acompany can remain in business while wiping away many of its debts. Thebankruptcy court ultimately approves a corporate budget and a plan to repayremaining debts; often shareholders lose much of their equity. The following are all thetimes he has had to file for bankruptcy. – Trump’s Taj Mahal opened inApril 1990 in Atlantic City, but six months later, “defaulted on interestpayments to bondholders as his finances went into a tailspin,” said RobertO’Harrow from The Washington Post. In July 1991, Trump’s Taj Mahal filed forbankruptcy. – He could not keep up withdebts on two other Atlantic City casinos, and those two properties declaredbankruptcy in 1992. – A fourth property, the PlazaHotel in New York, declared bankruptcy in 1992 after amassing debt.
– two more bankruptcies filedafter 1992, totaling six. Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts filed for bankruptcyagain in 2004, after accruing about $1.8 billion in debt. Trump EntertainmentResorts also declared bankruptcy in 2009, after being hit hard during the 2008recession. Therehas been a lot of debate about whether he filed for bankruptcy four or sixtimes but it’s proven that it was six because Trump told Washington Postreporters that he counted the first three bankruptcies as one. Even though heshould’ve counted them as three because they’re three different times. Whywould anyone want someone that unreliable to be running the country? Themain reason I’m disgusted by the fact that Donald Trump is our president is allthe remarks and comments he has made about the point of view on LGBTQ, women, races, and equality in general.
One situation was Trump’s attempt to proveObama was not a “natural-born US citizen” and was therefore not qualified to bepresident became a major issue. The White House initially tried to ignore thebirtherism movement as the work of conspiracy theorists, but when Trump’s largesocial media profile supported the issue, it eventually gained attraction.Thankfully, Trump for once admitted that he was wrong by saying,”President Barack Obama was born in the United States. Period.” But thisisn’t even the start of the horrible things our president has done. Donald Trump announced in a series oftweets that the government will not allow transgender people to serve in theU.
S. military. This represents Trump’s latest “flip-flop” on his stance onLGBTQ rights. He promised on the campaign trail to protect and support theLGBTQ community, but look at what he’s doing now. He completely lied about the”support” he’s giving.
The exact tweets were, “After consultation with myGenerals and military experts, please be advised that the United StatesGovernment will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to serve in anycapacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive andoverwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costsand disruption that transgender in the military would entail,” Trump wrote. If you still don’t understand howmuch Trump lied about his views and how he would help the LGBTQ community, listento this. One month after the June 2016 shooting at a gay nightclub, Trumppromised during his lengthy speech at the Republican National Convention to protect the targeted LGBTQ community from Islamic Terrorism.
“Only weeks ago, in Orlando, Florida,49 wonderful Americans were savagely murdered by an Islamic terrorist,” Trumpsaid. “This time, the terrorist targeted LGBTQ community. No good. And we’regoing to stop it. As your president, I will do everything in my power toprotect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression of a hatefulforeign ideology.
Believe me!” he continued. Well, where did all that supportgo? Also, during an October rally in Greeley, Colorado, Trump went to the stagewaving a rainbow flag with the words “LGBTs for Trump” scrawled on the fabric. One of the most horrendous opinionsDonald Trump has is his opinion on women. On March 8th, 2017 (InternationalWomen’s Day) Trump tweeted, “On International Women’s Day, join me in honoringthe critical role of women here in America & around the world.” He also tweeted,”Ihave tremendous respect for women and the many roles they serve that are vitalto the fabric of our society and our economy.” That’s a very positive and goodmessage from the person running our country, but it’s interesting that hetweeted that because it’s confusing in light of the many things he has saidbefore this.
For example, in a 2005 conversation with Billy Bush, of Access Hollywood, Trump was caughtbragging about sexual assault, saying, “When you’re a star, they let you doit,” according to a video obtained by the WashingtonPost. In the horrible video, Trump was also talking about his attempts toseduce women. “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just startkissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’rea star, they let you do it, you can do anything.
Grab them by the pussy, youcan do anything,” Trump said. And before you start getting disturbed by thefact that I quoted this and put it in my essay, think about the fact that thePresident of the United States said this. So if anyone is to get upset or takenback that I put these quotes in here, think about how the person who said this,is the person controlling our country. What kind of leader do we have if youcan’t repeat something he said because it is so disturbing.Another time when Donald Trumpcriticised women wrongfully was August 7th, 2015. ” Fox viewers give low marksto bimbo @MegynKelly will consider otherprograms!” Another was August 28, 2012, when Trump tweeted, “@ariannahuff is unattractive both inside and out.I fully understand why her former husband left her for a man- he made a gooddecision.
” Another disturbing situation DonaldTrump created was when Trump was in court, during a lawsuit over a failedproperty project in Florida, lawyer Elizabeth Beck asked for a break. Trump andhis team objected, wanting proceedings to continue, but Beck pointed out sheneeded to feed her three-month old daughter, pulling out a breast pump to proveit. Trump said in an outburst: “You’re disgusting.
” Then he walkedout of the room, ending proceedings for the day. The above are just some of themany things Trump has tweeted or said or lied about, but these are some of theworst in my opinion. I hope after you read this, youunderstand the large problem that is Donald Trump. And if you don’t, I don’tunderstand why you would support such a horrible person. It’s been a year andtwo days since the 2016 presidential election, and I’m still in shock. Socongratulations America for voting for such a racist, homophobic, sexist, andcontroversial man, go us.
