DillEnglish 10January 18, 2018Environmental PollutionEnvironmental pollution has been an expanding problem in our world . Taking into consideration, that environmental pollution affects the environment and the health of people, it has become a major global complication. Humans need to begin to make an effort in prevention to environmental deterioration. Environmental pollution is simple to get rid of, but we need understanding our environment in ways of the forms and the nature of pollution and how it affects our health and our environmentMost people are unaware of the consequences of environmental pollution and how it affects daily lives, economically, and physically. There are many different things that can be done by the all of the people of the world that could will help our environmental problems.
With the way things are done today in prevention of environmental pollution, it will not be possible to handle the devastating consequences that will come in the future if there is no call to action soon for the environmental pollution. The global pollution does not bring anything to the table for human lives. Many business owners of industries have done a lot of the harm of polluting the environment.
The World Health Organization estimates that more than a quarter of human diseases now facing mankind is as a result of constant exposure to environmental pollution (Ostro 2013). Poor disposal of wasteis the main reason of environmental pollution in many cities of the world even exists. These cities lack strict laws on management of waste and facilities for disposing waste including harmful waste materials (Center for Climate and Energy Solutions 2008). The waste can be radioactive and cause deadly infectious diseases to the health of people as well as animals.Plants use carbon dioxide for their natural processes which is drastically affected by environmental pollution. Diseases such as leukemia and sun burns are a result of the ultraviolet light that get through the atmosphere which are supposed to be protected from the ozone layer. Global warming has destroyed the ozone layer. The ozone layer has slowly been decreasing due to global warming which could lead to deadly outbreaks in disease.
The gases such as carbon dioxide are mainly released from the exhaust cars and smokestacks in factories. Global warming is seen in glaciers melting and the rising average temperatures we experience. There is also the disruption of seasonal patterns, risen levels of the sea and the melting of polar glaciers and ice caps, animals and plant species northwards as they seek for cooler temperatures (Corfee-Morlot, Maslin, & Burgess, 2007). Data from an analysis of climate change proved that 99% of human activities have resulted in release of massive amounts of carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels.
The carbon dioxide released into our atmosphere cause atmospheric warming which can become dangerous to life on Earth. By the year 2100, the average temperature on Earth is expected to have risen five and a half fahrenheit. This shows that there is the need to take major steps in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from cars, factories and power plants that deal with burning fossil fuels (Miller & Spoolman, 2009, p 33).
