Vaccines are generally considered the greatest contribution to mankind in view of eradicating disease that once had a high morbidity and mortality in the late twentieth century. We owe vaccines a great deal. It has been found that there was a complete eradication of the small pox virus due to the wide spread vaccination campaign carried throughout the world. As we try to do the same for many other disease such as polio. A new question arises are this vaccines really a cure or are they a curse on the people being vaccinated. My article is in consideration of the Indian perspective. Where the vaccination campaign is at its peak, estimates are, that there are many diseases  that will soon be eradicated because of the efforts taken to ensure a herd vaccination of the communities. So where does the question of it being a curse arise from ? , recently it has been noted that vaccines are being administered regardless of the geographic distribution of a particular disease, without scientific evidence of any efficacy of the vaccine and this is no more true than in India. An article was published by Dr. Jacob Puliyel, Director of Pediatric at the St. Stephens hospital in New Delhi, that looks into different perspectives of how vaccine have been responsible for a magnitude of deaths within the Indian continent and how commercial available vaccines are being introduced and sold in the Indian market prior to being peer reviewed and  without any concrete scientific evidence. In an article published in the Indian express by Dr. Jacob Puliyel and his team, ( ). Explain how a commercial rota virus (anti-diarrhea) vaccine is brought into the Indian market prior to being subjected for any peer review and without any justifiable scientific evidence. It was directly introduced in the Indian market. In another article published by the same team of doctors, they examine how statistical date are misinterpreted so as to have vaccines that can be commercially introduced and sold within the Indian market for a Monetary Gain. ( ).A large study was done by the WHO (Minz study) that revealed that the incidence of Hib meningitis was 7/100000 children under-five of age in India and the WHO further went to propose to vaccinate 25 million babies in India for an incidence of 7/100000 cases of children under five years. In a limited experiment done with the vaccine in India,  21 children died from the vaccination and in April 2013 , the Vietnam Government Drug Regulatory authority stopped the new form of vaccine – a Pentavalent vaccine – from being used in Vietnam after 9 deaths were noted from administering the vaccine. In an article published in the times of India on 25.Feb 2013,( ) a probe is requested to verify the cause of death in India in  after two children are administered the same Pentavealent vaccine.I wish to summarize by saying that for a Vaccines to be introduced into a countries national vaccination program. A complete study on the distribution, the burden, morbidity and mortality caused by the disease whose vaccine is being sought should be evaluated. A detailed clinical trials with complete date available on the safety and efficacy of the vaccine and whether or not that particular vaccines is within the economic affordability of the national economy should also be considered. Data should be gathered and considered Whether or not the vaccine is Feasible for addition in the routine immunization schedule. Otherwise the vaccine will end up being a curse rather than a cure. This article is a original review article and all links have been added to support the claims made, the author will not be responsible for the claims made.
